Welcome to WeTHRIVE! Champions Week, Day 3! Mark Docter is the 2023 WeTHRIVE!℠ Champion – Health for All award winner.
As the director of child nutrition with Winton Woods City Schools, Mark serves on the district’s WeTHRIVE! wellness team. He is passionate about ensuring that all students receive nutritious and delicious meals.
In the words of Drew Jackson, who nominated Mark for this award: “He is an extraordinary person with an extraordinary heart for all people.”
Mark started the district’s food pantry years ago. In 2023, he collaborated with the Forest Park WeTHRIVE! team and Forest Chapel to create a central food pantry operation. He also completed the conversion of the Nutrition Is the Mission Wellness Bus into a Food Truck platform for mobile food service preparation of high-quality meals and food service distribution into the community
Mark’s efforts have brought the NFL’s Fuel Up to Play 60! program to the district, enhancing exercise and nutrition opportunities for students. He also implemented Universal Free Breakfast in the Classroom at the high school, meaning that all students in the district now receive this benefit.
Mark is described as compassionate and we are proud to honor him as a 2023 WeTHRIVE! Champion.
