The Heights Movement is the 2022 WeTHRIVE!℠ Champion for Family Engagement.
Syretha Brown and John Harris (pictured above) accepted the award on behalf of The Heights Movement, a nonprofit organization committed to the development of youth, young adults, and all residents of the Village of Lincoln Heights. The group focuses on economic development, education, and public health.
Opened community center in 2022
In September of 2022, the organization opened the Innovation Center, a space that provides Lincoln Heights residents of all ages with social, educational, cultural, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Center offers free programs such as yoga, financial literacy, afterschool tutoring, creative writing, and video editing and production. It also provides a free adult work space with computers and printers.
