WeTHRIVE! champion is backbone of Addyston team

Note: This post incorporates information from the submitted champion award nomination, with additions and edits for clarity and flow.

Pam Jackson, Addyston council member and WeTHRIVE!℠ team member, is a 2026 WeTHRIVE! champion!

Pam gets things done

Several people nominated Pam for the champion award. One of them called her the backbone of the Addyston WeTHRIVE! team because she attends every meeting and does what it takes to turn the team’s ideas into action. They noted that whenever Pam encounters a task that requires extra work, she says, Well, it’s good for the community. And then she gets it done.

Healthy food access in Addyston

Pam is passionate about ensuring healthy food access in her community. When the Addyston team collaborated with Freestore Foodbank to give away fresh produce for the holidays, they also wanted to include a meat item.

After securing a donation from a local organization, Pam and another member of the team drove to multiple stores to find the best price for turkeys. They even negotiated with store managers to get the most for their money!

The Addyston team ended up providing a full holiday meal to more than 150 families for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. But Pam went a step further. She knew that some residents who really needed the food were not able to pick it up, so she delivered the items to their homes. This is just one example of why Pam is described as kindhearted and selfless.

Valuable member of the community

In addition to being a key leader on the WeTHRIVE! team, Pam is also a village council member. In this role, she finds creative ways to prioritize health in the community, even when times are tough.
