Faith-Based Initiative Overview
Faith-based organizations are the cornerstone of the community and can help set the tone for how people live their lives. Faith-based organizations play an important role in creating a healthy community. They can promote physical activity, encourage healthy eating, reduce tobacco exposure, and provide education on a variety of health topics among congregational and community members.
- Faith-Based Wellness Resolutions
By adopting the WeTHRIVE! Faith-Based Resolution
, faith-based organizations show a commitment to the health of their congregations as well as the community where they are located. Faith-based organizations make a commitment to take action related to nutrition, physical activity and tobacco use within their congregation. Examples include serving healthy food choices at diners, encouraging physical activity at meetings and events and banning all tobacco products for the property owned by the faith-based organization.
