Dorian grew up in Cincinnati. She has a master’s degree in Public Health with a focus in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Toledo.

Dorian is the Ohio Equity Institute (OEI) Coordinator for Hamilton County/Cincinnati. OEI is a community driven effort to improve birth outcomes and reduce the racial disparities in infant deaths. Her work focuses on two priority zip codes, 45240 and 45225. “Forest Park (45240) is very unique because it is an established WeTHRIVE! community that has created a very strong partnership between the two efforts,” Dorian said. “We have also been fortunate to work closely with Cradle Cincinnati and Connections in the 45225 community to better streamline efforts around infant mortality.”

Why did you become a Health Educator? “As a black woman, it’s hard to face the constant disparity in my community’s health issues. Health education and promotion was directly aligned with creating system changes that can impact an entire population. I wanted to be a part of creating a healthier future for future generations.”

What do you like most about being a WeTHRIVE! Health Educator? “Waking up every day and knowing that I’m making a difference that will impact generations to come!”

Fun Fact: Dorian is the self-proclaimed Co-Chair of the BeyHive and can recite any Beyonce lyric without hesitation!
