Putting the 'We' in WeTHRIVE!: A Resident Call to Action

Posted by Joyce Campbell on Monday, March 07, 2016

WeTHRIVE! is an initiative of Hamilton County Public Health, which is helping to create healthier communities for the residents of Hamilton County, OH. We are partners uniting for action to get things done and are working together on common issues with the ultimate goal of improving community health.

I have participated in the Lockland WeTHRIVE! group since it began and appreciate the good that has been accomplished. Eating healthy food, getting proper exercise, and not smoking, all contribute to better health. This is being promoted by having a salad bar in the school, exercise and playground equipment in the parks, and a ‘no smoking’ policy in the stadium. Presently, the Lockland team is working on the challenge of opiate usage and addiction to help young people to see the dangers of drugs. We hope lives can be saved through this effort and that our community can become safer. Through the WeTHRIVE! initiative of Hamilton County Public Health, we have received help and support with community projects and public awareness. Their leadership and guidance have been invaluable.

With a passion for a cause, one person can make a difference.  Help make our community a better place by becoming a part of WeTHRIVE! Let's make our choices the healthy ones and encourage others to join us!
