Faith-based groups adopt WeTHRIVE! wellness resolutions, promoting physical and spiritual health of communities

Faith-based organizations are often at the heart of a community. Many recognize the relationship between spiritual and physical health. This makes them a natural partner for WeTHRIVE!

We help churches build community gardens, start exercise classes, and learn about healthy cooking. We show them the value of opening their doors and their facilities to the community. WeTHRIVE! connects churches with one another to share resources so that everyone has the chance to live a vibrant, healthy life.

Now we’re working with faith-based organizations in Hamilton County to formally adopt WeTHRIVE! wellness resolutions that promote physical activity, encourage healthy eating and reduce tobacco exposure among their members.

Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn was the first in Hamilton County to adopt the wellness resolution. You can read about how they are committed to the health of their congregation and their community here. Others that have joined WeTHRIVE!’s Faith-Based Initiative are Life Changing Ministries (Lockland), Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (Lincoln Heights), Reading-Lockland Presbyterian Church (Lockland) and St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church (Lincoln Heights).
